Kevin Abosch is a world renowned photographer/visual artist, whose portraits of some of the world’s most celebrated personalities (Johnny Depp, Scarlett Johansson, Steven Spielberg, etc) have become part of the cultural landscape of our time and exhibited in museums across the globe,
On Wednesday, the 6th of April 2011, Abosch photographed Darren Clarke for “The Face of Ireland”, an ambitious photographic project comprised of 1000 portraits of the citizens of Ireland, representing each of the 32 counties on the island. Clarke joins a number of other notable Irish faces including fellow golfers Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy, actor Pierce Brosnan, singer Sinéad O’Connor and director Neil Jordan.
"Darren is one of Ireland's treasures and I'm delighted to have him as one of the faces representing the citizenry of this island", says Abosch. "He's a gentleman, has a great sense of humour and as we're the same age and have been professionals in our respective fields for roughly twenty years, I'm particularly fond of Darren".
“The Face of Ireland” will be exhibited later in the year at an iconic Dublin institution to be revealed in May.
